Common Questions
When should I replace my AC instead of repairing it?
Generally, if your AC is over 12 years old, uses R-22 refrigerant (phased out), or the repair cost exceeds half the replacement cost, replacement is the smarter long-term call. We'll give you an honest assessment, not a sales pitch.
What size AC do I need for my home?
AC sizing is calculated from square footage, ceiling height, insulation, window orientation, and climate zone. An oversized unit cycles too frequently and fails early; an undersized one runs constantly. We perform a proper load calculation rather than guessing from square footage alone.
Are there rebates available for high-efficiency AC?
Often, yes — federal and Ontario programs periodically offer rebates on qualifying ENERGY STAR-certified systems and heat pumps. We're not enrolled to file rebate paperwork on your behalf, but we'll point you to programs that may apply and provide the install documentation you'll need to claim them.
